What a magnificent celebration of rock ‘n’ roll! I went with some reservations, as TAGV seats are definitely not ideal for a pure rock concert. However, by the third song, the ‘tiger man’ invited everyone to rise and move closer to the stage. From then on, it was a collective catharsis, full of energy and emotion, as one of the prodigal sons returned to his birthplace. Paulo is a true stage animal and a distinguished artist, and he demonstrated this naturally, always well-supported by his tight and talented band.
As rock is inherently interventionist, there was no shortage of political and social messages in a time when dark clouds loom large. To conclude, there were two encores: a masterful 15-minute jam session and, the pièce de résistance, the bittersweet ‘True Love Will Find You In The End’ from the album ‘Femina.’ Here, Paulo, in an epilogue, allowed himself to be embraced by the audience.
